Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics, Local 4724 is an affiliate to the International Association of Fire Fighters which is the AFL-CIO affiliated labor union representing more than 3,200 locals in more than 3,500 communities in the U.S. and Canada. The 300,000 members of the IAFF are the nation’s professional fire fighters and paramedics who protect the lives and property of 85% of the nation’s population. Local 4724 is also affiliated with the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin which is the IAFF affiliated State Association.

Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics, Local 4724 is the exclusive bargaining agent and proudly represents the Firefighters, EMT’s and Paramedics of the City of New Berlin and the Town of Brookfield. Local 4724 is dedicated to securing improvements in safety, hours, benefits, wages, and working conditions for our members and working families everywhere. Local 4724 will continue to be the primary advocate for providing our members with the tools they need to perform their jobs.

Not only do we serve the community, but Local 4724 and its members also support the communities in which we serve. Through benevolence and hard work our membership has been able to donate tens of thousands of dollars to local charities annually.

Our membership in the City of New Berlin is comprised of 12 Full Time Lieutenants, 24 Full Time Firefighter/Paramedics, and 7 Part Time Firefighter/EMTS and Paramedics. Staffing is a minimum of 12 personnel a day. Our membership in the Town of Brookfield is comprised of 42 Part Time Captains, Lieutenants, Apparatus Engineers, Firefighter/EMTS and Paramedics. Staffing is a minimum of 5 personnel a day. Our members are dedicated to protecting a combined population just shy of 50,000 in a combined 42.1 square miles. With the industrial parks of New Berlin and the Town of Brookfield along with Goerke’s Corners, Bluemound Rd., Moorland Rd., National Ave., and portions of I94 and I43 we service a significantly larger weekday commuter population of workers, visitors, and travelers.

Our members provide professional and courteous service 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a timely response and effective emergency management for fire suppression, emergency medical incidents, hazardous materials incidents, and natural or man-made disasters. We also provide fire prevention, fire inspection/code enforcement and public fire education. Through these programs, our departments are able to reduce loss of life, injury, and property loss from fire and other naturally caused events.
